Give an old chair a good home... have a second-hand or passed down item repaired and/or re-covered. Recycling at its most sentimental–create a treasured heirloom piece. From your Gran's old armchair to a Retro sideboard to a contemporary Design Classic dining chair. They all will add personality to your interior.
Cushions–every room should have them... you can quickly update your sofas with new cushions. A cheap and cheerful way to ring the changes. Always place them in odd numbers (i.e., 3 cushions on a two-seater sofa and 5 on a three-seater) for the best effect. Add some glamour to your bed–place silky or satin cushions against your pillows to dress your bed with style.
Large floor cushions are a great alternative to beanbags for the kids' rooms or the TV/family room. Choose bright colours or funky animal prints to jazz up these areas.
Hallways and landings are great places to hang pictures and framed photographs. Create your very own personal gallery (of favourite people and places) on walls leading to the family bedrooms. Hang pictures at eye level, and arrange in groups for best effect. Groups can be created by subject, frame size or colour. That way you will avoid the "spread to thinly" look which leaves each item lost and uninteresting.
